X-1FBO support Dream Flights with Operation September Freedom

This 4th of July X-1FBO are working to support Dream Flights with Operation September Freedom (OSF), which will be landing in a city near you to honor surviving WWII veterans who put their lives on the line to enable independence, freedom, and democracy.

OSF is a national effort by non-profit Dream Flights to honor 1,000+ World War II veterans with free Dream Flights in six restored Boeing Stearman biplanes.

During the 20-minute flight, Dream Flyers experience the freedom and exhilaration of soaring 1,000 feet in the air in an iconic, open-cockpit-biplane.

The public is invited to be part of these historic experiences by attending a series of Dream Flights and watching magic unfold across the nation.

According to Dream Flights Founder Darryl Fisher, the tour name, Operation September Freedom, represents the Sept. 2,1945 signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, which effectively ended WWII.

The logo is designed using elements significant to the signing aboard the USS Missouri. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbour.

Operation September Freedom runs Aug. 1-Sept. 30, 2021. Mid-campaign, Sept. 8-10, 2021, Dream Flight crews will rendezvous at the 50th National Stearman Fly-in in Galesburg, Ill., to honor WWII veterans with Dream Flights.

After, the crews will return to their home bases, stopping in towns along the way to continue honouring WWII veterans with flights. Official schedule will be announced on July 4th!
