Universal Aviation earns IS-BAH accreditation for Costa Rica offices

The Universal Aviation Costa Rica ground handling offices at San Juan and Liberia have earned accreditation under the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) programme.

They join Singapore and London Stansted as the third and fourth Universal Aviation locations to gain the accredited.

Delmark Muir, Managing Director, Universal Aviation Costa Rica, explained: “IS-BAH accreditation is a mark of distinction that sends a message to our customers that we are committed to the highest levels of safety, systems, training and security.”

IS-BAH is a set of global industry best practices for business aviation ground handlers, featuring a fully documented and implemented safety management system (SMS) at its core. The IS-BAH protocol follows the same basic structure as the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) programme and incorporates the NATA Safety 1st Ground Audit Program. IS-BAH is the global industry standard for handlers and operators around the world to meet the coming SMS requirements from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Meanwhile, Robert Randall, US Senior Sales Manager for Universal Avionics, has announced the appointment of David Carter as Regional Sales Manager for Northwestern US.

Carter will support UA authorised dealers and integrators in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico. He is based in Kansas City.
