Trimec Aviation Assists Becker with First Part 25 AML-STC for AMU6500

Trimec Aviation, a certified FAA Part 145 Repair Station (#18TR248C), announced they are aiding Becker Avionics in the development of the first Part 25 Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for Becker Avionics’ new AMU6500 as part of the Approved Model List (AML). The standalone audio management unit (AMU) is designed for small rotary and fixed-wing aircraft and is the first state-of-the-art AMU that uses a display to enable new functionality with enhanced performance.

We are excited to be working with Becker Avionics in this capacity as we continue to expand our capabilities and our business model,” said John Holland, Trimec Aviation, General Manager. “Our avionics technicians have a wealth of experience and Becker was aware of our extensive knowledge base with avionics STCs, so it has been a rewarding project for both of us,” added Holland

Trimec expects to complete the AMU6500 STC installation in a Gulfstream G200 at the Fort Worth facility as part of the AML-STC process by the end of July.

Rob Truglia, Business Development Manager for Becker Avionics said, “Becker Avionics selected Trimec Aviation as a teaming partner for this STC due to their knowledge of mid-size business jets.  Trimec was the best decision we could have made.”

The AMU6500 is based on a completely new system architecture, which allows maximum scalability of the Inter-Communication System (ICS) for a wide variety of aviation platforms. The individually programmable soft keys and functions can be tailored to the mission and aircraft configuration. By combining the display and system architecture, the AMU increases the possibilities of intercom and multicast functions. New functionalities like 3D improve the flight awareness significantly. Modern connectivity, like Bluetooth, are integrated as well. For more details go to https://www.becker-avionics.com/business-commercial-aviation/#intercom.
