Textron selects new de-icing solution for Cessna SkyCourier

Widely recognized in the industry for its leading de-icing solutions, UTC Aerospace Systems today announced that it has been selected by Textron Aviation to provide Goodrich brand pneumatic de-icers and support services for the Cessna SkyCourier twin-engine turboprop program.

UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Through their proprietary Goodrich Estane® surface material, UTC Aerospace Systems’ pneumatic de-icers are specially formulated to provide greater resistance to cold cracking, ozone, UV and aircraft fluids compared to traditional de-icers.

In addition, the pneumatic de-icers’ pressure-sensitive adhesive,  Goodrich FASTboot® allows the aircraft to be operated immediately after de-icer installation, compared to a 48-hour dry time for traditional de-icers.

In combination, these product benefits can translate to a lower cost of ownership and reduced installation time for aircraft owners and operators.

In addition to the Cessna SkyCourier, Textron Aviation previously selected UTC Aerospace Systems’ Goodrich pneumatic and propeller de-icers for its Cessna Denali single-engine turboprop program.

“With solutions on more than 200 models of general, business and regional aircraft, UTC Aerospace Systems is proud to be the industry leader in de-icing,” said Mark Skarohlid, Vice President of Business Development for Sensors & Integrated Systems.

“We’re pleased to have been chosen by Textron Aviation to support the Cessna SkyCourier platform, and we look forward to growing our longstanding relationship with them in the years to come.”
