Textron Aviation offers High School Summer Internships And K-12 Educator Externships

Textron Aviation is offering high school students an excellent opportunity in Wichita, Kansas, to explore potential careers in the aviation industry this summer.

U.S High school students now have a chance to learn about a wide range of exciting career fields and also get paid while doing it.

Textron Aviation, in collaboration with the Workforce Alliance of South-Central Kansas, is supporting youth throughout their communities by offering part-time, paid internships based in Wichita that offer valuable hands-on experience in the aviation industry.

Applications are now open and will be accepted through March 17, 2023.

Internships positions are available to high school students between the ages of 16 and 19. The six-week program begins in June, and it provides valuable experience in an industry with a variety of career fields.

Each selected participant receives the full internship experience, which includes an orientation with parents and their supervisor, as well as a community service day and future employment opportunities.

Each selected student is paid throughout their time in the program, which concludes July 14.

Textron Aviation has supported the program for the past five years, and some of its past participants now work full time for the company.

Textron’s Aviation’s externship program offers an immersive, experiential learning experience for educators, counselors, administrators and other individuals who have a direct impact on K-12 students.

Participants will be taken through the “Design, Build, Fly” process to better understand the path from concept to production and delivery of aircrafts.

This will provide educators with the knowledge to help counsel students in career pathing and beyond.
