Signature Flight Support renews Wichita Airport FBO lease

Fixed-base operator (FBO) network Signature Flight Support has renewed the lease for its FBO at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport and pledged to spend $2 million on improvements.

The new lease, which runs for 30 years, includes the improvements agreement as part of the deal approved by the Wichita City Council, which acted as the Wichita Airport Authority.

The agreement, which includes two five-year renewable lease options, is for the lease of 7,665 sq ft of offices and customer service space, 44,997 sq ft of community clear-span hangars, and 38,279 sq ft of t-hangars.

Signature have not yet released their improvement plans for the facilities, although acceptable improvements according to the lease agreement include structural upgrades, exterior painting, and hangar door replacement, as well as upgrades to roof, HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing systems (paint, flooring and furnishings are not included).

Signature took over the FBO at ICT from Hawker Beechcraft in 2008 and also provides fuelling services for commercial airlines operating at the airport, whilst running its aviation bulk fuel farm under a separate contract.
