Sheltair adds $55 million hangar complex at Republic Airport

Sheltair Aviation has opened a new $55 million FBO hangar complex at Republic Airport, New York (FRG), with two thirds of the hangars already fully leased to aircraft owners.

Each new facility offers 31,000 square-feet of floor space, 4000 square-feet of office space, 28-foot door heights, generous ramp space, and dedicated vehicle parking. The complex entrance is exclusively secured for Sheltair tenants and its guests.

Todd Anderson, senior vice president of real estate and development for Sheltair, said: “Energy efficient features are found throughout the design, and the administrative spaces are capable of being configured to meet the unique needs of each tenant.”

Anderson explained that the facility is heated, including the hangar door tracks, ensuring ice and snow do not impede operations during winter periods.

Among aviation tenants already taking up residence in the new Sheltair complex is Zenflight, who operate a private club of corporate aircraft based around the country. Zenflight has made Republic their corporate headquarters.

Malte Lorenz, president of Zenflight, said: “We have long recognized Republic Airport’s location is important for many of our clients, so when Sheltair completed these 21st Century hangars, we wanted to be first in line to secure space.”

Sheltair operates 18 FBOs and manages almost four million square-feet of aviation related properties at 24 airports throughout Florida, Colorado, Georgia, and New York.
