SaxonAir’s new catering manager to take facility to next level

SaxonAir has appointed John Freeman, to the newly developed role of catering manager for the business aviation facility at Norwich International Airport, UK.

Since moving to join the team at SaxonAir, Mr Freeman (pictured above) has already transformed the conferencing facilities and dramatically changed the catering standards. His appointment to the SaxonAir team also means they can now offer in-flight catering, providing an extensive menu for passengers to choose from.

Alex Durand, chief executive officer for SaxonAir, said: “Following on from the success of these events and a growing appetite from the local business community to use our hangar space to host premier events, we have looked to invest in our own in-house capability to deliver at a really high standard.

“What’s really great is the unique experience we can offer people, from hosting a meeting with views of the apron, to events in the main hangar, along with a range of private jets and helicopters, it really is a unique space.”

Freeman has worked at some of London’s best hotels before migrating into managerial roles overseeing the catering at the Youth Hostel Association’s flagship hotel. He returned to Norwich working at the airport under the Cater Leisure brand before joining SaxonAir in late 2018.

Mr Freeman said: “This new role is a great opportunity to really put SaxonAir on the map within the business community and demonstrate the unique style of events that can be held in such an exciting and versatile space.”
