Sanderson Field Municipal Airport grants contract to new FBO operator

Sanderson Field Municipal Airport (ANJ) has granted a contract to new operators at its lone FBO site, following the passing of the owner of Soo Air, the previous inhabitant.

The Michigan airport has awarded an initial two-year contract to Great Circle Aviation Services, run by brothers Dave and Ted Waite, with an option to extend for two years.

The FBO in question has various amenities, including a pilot lounge, kitchen, and concierge, whilst also offering a 7,000 sq ft terminal and a 10,000 sq ft aircraft maintenance hangar, which is able to accommodate light and midsize jets.

The location is Avfuel-branded and offers fuelling with assistance from FBO staff between the hours of 8am-5pm, and self-service fuelling at all times.

The working is working towards obtaining its FAA Part 145 repair station approval, said Dave Waite to AIN.

The maintenance technician, who performs aircraft inspection and repairs, added that he wants to begin with avionics install and repair and move into airframe and powerplant work.
