RUAG repaints Gulfstream G650 aircraft

RUAG MRO International has achieved the full repainting of its first Gulfstream G650 at their aircraft painting facilities at Munich-Oberpfaffenhofen.

RUAG completed the project on behalf of a third party maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider and delivered the aircraft on time and to full customer satisfaction.

RUAG is continuing to grow its aircraft painting portfolio. The completion of this Gulfstream G650 marks the first aircraft of its type at the aircraft support provider’s painting facilities near Munich. Prior to this work on the G650, the specialist team had fulfilled the full exterior repainting of Gulfstream G450 and Gulfstream G550 aircraft.

Supporting customers with precision aircraft painting is a core capability within RUAG’s one-stop shop approach to aircraft MRO services. Third party MRO providers seeking to fulfill their own customers’ exterior finish requirements regularly approach RUAG for aircraft painting support.

“Our specialist team has developed a reputation for reliability and excellence in aircraft painting,” said Reinhard Imhoff, sales manager exterior services, RUAG MRO International.

He notes, “We are pleased to support our industry partners. Working with us allows them to expand the service portfolio they can provide to their customers. Our services enable them to include aircraft painting support with confidence.”

“RUAG is committed to offering reliable and sustainable aircraft MRO solutions to the business aircraft industry,” said Volker Wallrodt, senior vice president business jets, RUAG MRO International.

RUAG MRO International has also refreshed a Bombardier Challenger 850 belonging to VistaJet with a variety of aircraft services during a scheduled maintenance visit.

Project management and services included aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), component MRO, aircraft painting, and the integration of both an avionics ADS-B out upgrade as well as a full cabin refurbishment. This is the first in a series of Challenger 850 projects which will be completed on behalf of VistaJet.

The customer chose to optimize a scheduled MRO event on their Bombardier Challenger 850 to save on both time and costs. The aircraft, part of VistaJets’ global business jet fleet of over 70 aircraft, required regular maintenance services, landing gear MRO, a full exterior repainting to feature the VistaJet livery, an ADS-B compliance upgrade and full cabin refurbishment.

Managing the entire project, RUAG applied its MRO, aircraft painting and engineering expertise to fulfill customer expectations reliably. Currently, RUAG MRO International is supporting the second of the series of Challenger 850s, on behalf of VistaJet.
