RUAG Australia and their Swiss division headquarters, RUAG MRO International, have donated to the Australian wildfire crisis relief fund NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc. In doing so, the Victoria-based aircraft support provider has initiated a local fundraising platform, available at the link below. The company appeals to RUAG employees and industry partners to donate, how they see fit, during this time.
“RUAG Australia’s mission is to do our utmost to provide in-country support for Australian interests. This is especially applicable during this crisis,” states Terry Miles, General Manager RUAG Australia. “The magnitude of these fires is having disastrous effects on our community, our neighbors, our families, the people we know and work with, the wildlife we treasure, and the ecological habitats we all need in order to thrive. Our organization is intent on living up to our values and commitments, taking corporate social responsibility very seriously,” he asserts.
RUAG’s corporate values emphasize collaboration and corporate social responsibility under the banner of “Together Ahead”. Their approach to these fundraising efforts mirrors this. “RUAG is proud of the action taken by our Colleagues in Australia. It is very disturbing to consider that the overall area affected by the Australian fires covers more square kilometres than double the entire area of Switzerland. We are keen to endorse our Australian team’s efforts and provide tangible support to the relief programs,” confirms Stephan Jezler, Senior Vice President Aviation International, RUAG MRO International.
