The owner of the Bombardier Challenger 604 opted to integrate an ADS-B Out avionics upgrade in order to comply with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Mandate 2020, set to go into effect on 7 June 2020. The RUAG MRO International team also fulfilled cabin modifications on the aircraft during the same downtime, saving the owner time and costs.
RUAG’s in-house engineering and cabin interior shops ensured the project was completed on time and according to customer specifications. In addition to the integration of ADS-B Out avionics on the flight deck, the engineering team developed a minor modification for the upgrade and replacement of ageing LED lighting. The owner also used the downtime to refresh the cabin interior.
“Aircraft availability for continuous and profitable operations is a priority for our customers. We’re keen to ensure their aircraft are equipped and ready for a smooth transition on the EASA Mandate 2020 target date,” states Christian Karl, Head of Sales Business Jets, RUAG MRO International.
“Our one-stop shop approach to aircraft services combines with our team’s expertise in Bombardier business aircraft to provide our business jet community with reliable support and the benefits of optimized downtimes.”
