Milan Malpensa opens new business aviation terminal

SEA Group, the company which runs Milan’s Malpensa and Linate airports, has opened a new business aviation terminal at Malpensa called Milano Prime.

The terminal, which was built by Italian architectural firm One Works, joins the Prime facility at Linate Airport, which together are considered the first business and general aviation airport in Italy.

“Working in line with One Works’ 2015 restyling of the Milan Linate Prime business aviation terminal, this exciting new terminal marks a big step in SEA Prime’s successful repositioning strategy, which has been carried out with great effectiveness and reflected in the new opening,” said One Works.

The new terminal will be open 24/7 and cover an area of 1,400 square metres, with a 50,000 square metre yard and a 5,000 square metre hangar, while also accommodating five lounges within the polyhedral shape of the building.

The opening was timed before the planned closure of Linate Airport for runway maintenance works, scheduled from 27th July to 26th October.

In a statement, Milano Malpensa said this would allow it to accommodate business and general aviation traffic traffic anticipated during the autumn, a period which sees important fashion and sports events come to the city.
