Metrojet executive elected to AsBAA board of governors

Business aviation services firm Metrojet Limited has announced the election of its general manager for China to the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) board of governors.

Michael Chen, GM for the Hong Kong based company’s China Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), will take up the role for a two-year term and will oversee brand awareness for the association, as well as working with the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) to enhance operational safety practices.

“AsBAA is a perfect example of private and public partnerships working together – acting as a conduit between the business aviation industry and the Government policy makers,” said Chen.

“With my previous working experience in Government affairs and my current role within Metrojet, I am confident that I can assist in supporting the future development of the industry in China.”

Chen has extensive experience in the Chinese aviation industry, having previously spent nine years in Beijing with Ameco, in addition to stints with the U.S.-China Aviation Cooperation Program of the American Chamber of Commerce, Honeywell China as a director of government affairs and business development and GE Aviation Greater China as their director of business development and government affairs.
