Luxivair SBD announces investment in green technologies

San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) FBO Luxivair SBD has announced the acquisition of low and zero emission equipment compliant with California emission standards.

The recent purchases by the FBO include new 10,000-gallon fuel trucks, a propane powered forklift, electric powered aircraft tugs and aircraft ground power generators.

“As the premier FBO in Southern California, Luxivair SBD’s, core values include environmentally sustainable equipment and practices that our customers and community can rely on,” said Mark Gibbs, Director of Aviation for the San Bernardino International Airport.

“The FBO continues its good stewardship of the environment while investing in responsible business practices and delivering the quality services its customers expect.”

The equipment all complies with the latest South Coast Air Quality Management District and the state of California Tier 4 emission standards, helping to contribute to lower carbon emissions at the airport.

Further methods by which SBD and Luxivair aim to reduce emissions include the energy efficient LED lighting used around the airport, as well as the plan to offer customers the use of hydrogen powered, zero emission, Toyota Mirai sedans, through a partnership with StratoShare, a division of StratosFuel.
