Lufthansa Technik announce intention to offer cabin completions for the Airbus A220

Lufthansa Technik AG has developed a VIP cabin interior concept for the Airbus A220, the smallest of Airbus’ commercial aircraft range.

Models of the SkyRetreat cabin concept were showcased at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) 2019, with the full concept to be unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

“Although the A220 represents the new entry level of both Airbus’ corporate jet portfolio as well as our completions offerings, it already provides an incredible amount of space for breathtaking VIP interiors,” said Wieland Timm, Senior Director Sales, VIP & Special Mission Aircraft at Lufthansa Technik.

“Our SkyRetreat concept makes optimum use of this spacious cabin and its technical features will provide our customers with a whole new sense of space and a unique travel experience.”

These newly unveiled VIP completion capacities join an extensive range of pre-existing services that Lufthansa already provide to the Airbus 220 family, from line maintenance and component services to engine services for its PW1500 geared turbofan engines.

News of these Lufthansa intentions comes after comments made to EVA this week by President of Airbus Corporate Jets, Benoit Defforge, that there were no plans to develop an ACJ220 business jet version of the A220.
