London Biggin Hill Airport is celebrating 15 years of its dedicated animal handling service, SkyPets, by welcoming 15 pets on a single flight.
Following 15 years in British Colombia, Canada, Graham and Susan Underwood transited through London Biggin Hill with their 11 dogs and four cats, to relocate to Cornwall.
The first UK business aviation airport to offer a dedicated animal handling service, which has grown substantially since its 2003 launch, London Biggin Hill’s SkyPets gives DEFRA-approved charter operators the option to fly owners and their pets directly to the Capital.
Sally Powell, FBO Manager at London Biggin Hill Airport, says: “As movements continue to rise at the airport, so too does the use of our facilities, including SkyPets.
On average, 2,000 animals pass through London Biggin Hill each year and these numbers continue to rise.
“We have a fantastic team and we’re delighted to be able to support people who want to move their beloved pets, whether bringing them on holiday or relocating them.
Welcoming 11 dogs and four cats in a single flight is an unusual request, but testament to our team’s ability that they can be cleared with minimum disruption to their and their owners’ onward journey.”
