Light aircraft crash in Hong Kong leaves pilot in serious condition

A pilot of a light aircraft in Hong Kong is in a serious condition after crashing into a slope in Tai Po earlier this week.

As the South China Morning Post reported, the pilot was part of an aviation club practicing aerobatics at the time of the crash.

The pilot was still conscious when rescuers arrived at the scene and was subsequently transported to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.

The pilot’s condition has since been lessened to serious from critical, the article reported.

The civil aviation department in the region said it was investigating the cause of the crash, but it could take up to a year to establish what happened.
