A helicopter group, LAAHOA, based in Los Angeles, California, US, has stated it wishes to see an automated complaint system to stay active in the area.

The FAA-sponsored Automated Complain System (ACS) was launched in 2015 and was twice extended after its initial run of a year.

The helicopter association says that it firmly supports the system staying in place as it quantifies the public concern of noise in the Los Angeles area.

It is estimated that the system handles 5,500 calls a year and costs the FAA $30,000 a year to keep in place.

The helicopter association stated that the system allows discussions to be had effectively regarding noise in the area.
