Jet Aviation Saudi Arabia celebrates 40 years of operation

Jet Aviation is celebrating 40 years of operation in Saudi Arabia at the Saudi International Airshow, held at Thumamah Airport in Riyadh, from March 12 (today) through March 14. 

The company and Saudi Arabian partners, established its first Fixed Base Operation (FBO) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Jeddah Airport in 1979. It currently operates four FBO facilities in Saudi Arabia — Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina and Yanbu.

As the industry’s first international aviation and aerospace exhibition in the Kindom, the Saudi Airshow 2019 is a a great event to mark Jet Aviation’s 40th year in operation.

Hardy Butschi, vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation in the Middle East, said: “By the mid-seventies, Mobil Oil was regularly bringing aircraft from Saudi Arabia to Switzerland for servicing and it was with their help that we were able to form our local partnership and open the handling and line-maintenance operation in Jeddah.”

Mobil Oil, which was previously known as the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company, is an American oil company which merged with Exxon in 1999 to form a parent company called ExxonMobil.

Jet Aviation has continually invested in the region throughout its history in the country, and continues to earn the trust and confidence of its customers, airport authorities and its Saudi partners.
