Jet Aviation partners with Amira Air and adds Global Express to its fleet in EMEA

Jet Aviation has announced a partnership with Amira Air, a Vienna-based aircraft operator, adding a Global Express to its managed fleet in EMEA.

The recently refurbished Global Express is based in Vienna, Austria and available for charter.  It accommodates up to 12 passengers and features a crew rest area to help increase the duty time if needed.

“We are very pleased to expand our fleet and offer more choice to charter customers for long-range trips,” said Claudio Peer, senior director Aircraft Management & Charter Sales, EMEA & Asia. “As a large cabin aircraft, this Global Express offers great comfort and value to charter customers in Vienna and the region.”

Under the agreement, Jet Aviation will operate the charter aircraft under Amira Air’s AOC (Aircraft Operator’s Certificate) and exclusively manage charter sales of the business jet.

The long-range Global Express was fully refurbished in neutral tones in 2018, accommodates up to 12 passengers and has a maximum range of 10,186 km (5,500 nautical miles).

In related news, Jet Aviation has acquired all joint venture shares from its partners in Vienna, making the MRO and FBO operation a fully owned Jet Aviation entity.

The company in Vienna was founded in September 2014 and now has 38 full-time employees. It provides scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and AOG services to Cessna Citation aircraft, is a Gulfstream Factory Authorized Service Center for G550 line maintenance, and further supports line maintenance and AOG services for Learjet (40/45/60), Challenger (604/605/650), Global (5000/6000) and Global Express aircraft.
