Thinking of registering an aircraft on the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry? Charterhouse Lombard could be of assistance. Executive & VIP Aviation International (EVA) asks Richard Smith, Managing Director, and Chris Broadhead (CB), UK Relationship Director, Charterhouse Lombard, what this company can provide

EVA        What can Charterhouse Lombard offer the business aviation/private jet community in terms of setting up, administering  and managing offshore companies?

RS           Charterhouse Lombard was established in 1995 and is licensed by the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission. Charterhouse Lombard Aviation Services has the expertise and experience to undertake aircraft registration on the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, as well as providing the necessary company structure to own and manage the aircraft. We are very experienced in all aspects of the set-up and on-going administration of company structures…this is one of our primary businesses and our professional team, including our dedicated office in Dubai, are on hand to provide the advice clients need.

EVA        What is your role in terms of aircraft registration?

CB           Our principal services include: liaising with the relevant authorities on the Isle of Man to ensure a totally customer focussed and responsive service for our clients; completion of all aircraft registration documentation; the incorporation of an Isle of Man company to own the aircraft and  the provision of qualified personnel as directors to manage the company structure; and liaising with the registry to arrange a surveyor to survey the aircraft (this is a worldwide service).

EVA        What are your expectations of the Middle East private aviation market?

RS           The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry was established in May 2007 and now has over 300 aircraft on its register. It is now attracting increased business from Middle East based clients and Middle East operators are now the fastest growing clients and we expect this to continue as the attraction of the Registry gains increasing popularity

EVA        What does the Isle of Man aircraft register offer that is beneficial to the private aircraft owner?

CB           As we mentioned before, Middle East operators are now the Register’s fastest growing clients. The register has grown in popularity with aircraft owners because of its total commitment to customer service and its supportive team of professional aviation staff. It has very high service standards and quick and easy access to decision makers. The Isle of Man offers a secure mortgage register and provides the neutral registration prefix “M”, provided from a global recognised Triple A rated jurisdiction

EVA        What trends are you seeing in the business aviation market for offshore company set-up and aircraft registration?

RS           This is very much a growing area of our business and our totally professional, customer focussed approach to our clients, together with our very close links to the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry, should mean that we see increased levels of business going forward.
