HILITECH opens new production plant

HILITECH, an F/LIST and Hintsteiner Group joint venture, has officially opened its new production plant in Austria.

F/LIST is internationally recognised for its high-end business jet interiors, while Hintsteiner produces lightweight composite technology for motorsport and defence applications. The facility opened with an 11 April inauguration ceremony.

By 2020, the plant is expected to employ more than 100 professionals, developing and manufacturing innovative cabin systems, linings and composite components, mainly from carbon fibre. HILITECH’s portfolio ranges from sliding doors, tables, toilet seats and shower trays, to high-quality cabinets, and decorative carbon surfaces and applications.

Through special production methods and a unique combination of materials, HILITECH has reduced component weight by as much as 25% compared to conventional construction techniques. In addition, all tooling is done in-house, for maximum precision and flexibility, via a modern production infrastructure that includes autoclave/prepreg technology, vacuum processes, compression moulding, wet laminate technology, rapid prototyping, CNC milling, prepreg cutting and 3D scanning.

Aware that its high-tech product line requires specialist knowledge, HILITECH has initiated an apprentice training programme that will build and retain know-how and expertise for the long term.
