Gogo presents 51,000 Five awards, as Textron provides AVANCE update

On Tuesday, Gogo presented its 2018 Gogo Business Aviation 51,000 Five awards at the 62nd annual Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention & Trade Show in Palm Springs. Award selection is based on a dealer’s demonstrated commitment to helping optimise customers’ inflight connectivity experience, plus other factors, including technical expertise and sales performance.

Representing a pinnacle of achievement for a Gogo Business Aviation dealer, the 51,000 Five award recognises the highest-performing organisations in the company’s global dealer and distributor network, as chosen by the Gogo Business Aviation executive team. The award’s name was inspired by the highest altitude reached by business jets – 51,000ft.

Dassault Aviation, Duncan Aviation, Gulfstream, Textron Aviation and West Star Aviation were all rewarded for their exceptional service. Accepting the award, Textron Aviation released news on its Gogo programme, reporting that it recently installed its 80th Gogo AVANCE system.

Available in L3 and L5 forms, AVANCE delivers 3G or 4G, respectively, connectivity solutions. L5 facilitates music, TV and movie streaming, video conferencing and on-demand email with large attachments. The service also supports a variety of crew apps.

Textron Aviation took the opportunity to report on its development of Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Gogo AVANCE L5 system. STCs covering Wi-Fi certification and full equipment and antenna installation are available for the Cessna Citation X, Citation Sovereign, and Citation XL, XLS and XLS+. Meanwhile, STCs have been developed for the Citation Latitude, Citation Sovereign+ and Citation X+, but await approval.

Commenting on the significance of the 51,000 Five awards, David Salvador, Gogo Business Aviation’s VP Aftermarket Sales, said: “Our dealer partners are a key part of our success. They not only provide great service, but understand how important it is that our mutual customers have a good experience before, during and after their inflight connectivity and entertainment system is installed.”
