Farnborough Airport announce the appointment of Simon Geere

The Board of Directors of Farnborough Airport are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Geere as the company’s new CEO. Simon will succeed Brandon O’Reilly on 1st July 2020 following Brandon’s retirement which was announced earlier in the year.

Simon joins Farnborough Airport from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), and brings over 20 years of airport leadership experience having held senior roles and board positions across a number of UK and European airports.

Simon started his career at BAA plc in 1994 before joining London Luton Airport as General Manager Aviation. He was later appointed Business Development Director with responsibility for the airport’s revenue generating activities, including business aviation. In 2002 he joined MIRA and has been instrumental in driving operational performance across MIRA’s European airports’ portfolio while successfully navigating many of the challenges and headwinds faced by the global aviation sector over the last two decades. Simon has previously held board positions at Birmingham Airport, Brussels Airport, Luton Airport and Newcastle Airport, and has been Chairman of Bristol Airport and Deputy Chairman of Copenhagen Airports. He is currently a board member of Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton Airports as well as Farnborough Airport.

The Board of Directors of are also pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Marsden as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Rob is currently serving as interim CFO at Farnborough Airport having joined in March after a long career with Centrica plc. In addition, the Board are also delighted to announce that Brandon O’Reilly has agreed to join the Board as a Non-Executive Director from 1st July 2020.

The Board would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff of Farnborough Airport for their continued commitment to the business in these challenging times.
