“The installation was dynamic as we removed the aging system from the cockpit and installed the Garmin G1000 Nxi, which has many additional features and is lighter weight than the previous system,” says Duncan Aviation’s Houston, Texas, Satellite Manager Mark Winter. “We also integrated an Automatic Direction Finder (ADF) and High Frequency (HF) communications system, which added an enjoyably complex challenge to the installation!”
The workscope on this installation was a little larger than most Garmin G1000 Nxi installations, and the team pulled in specialists from the St. Louis, Missouri, Satellite Shop and the Lincoln, Nebraska, full-service Duncan Aviation facility.
“That’s one enormous benefit we offer our customers: We provide full-support of the system after installation from any of our Satellite Shops located at business aviation airports around the United States and any of our three full-service facilities in Battle Creek, Michigan, Provo, Utah and Lincoln,” says Winter.
