C&L Aviation Group completes teardown of challenger aircraft

C&L Aviation Group is expanding its offerings for Challenger operators by completing the tear down of a Challenger 604 that was purchased for parts inventory in 2017. While the company has performed maintenance on Challenger aircraft for several years, the recent purchase positions C&L, a full-service MRO facility in Maine, to not only use these parts in their Bangor, ME corporate maintenance facility, but also to offer them for sale to 604 customers.

“We’ve been ramping up in the Challenger business for a few years now,” said C&L CEO Chris Kilgour. “We supply operators with flight controls, major rotables, consumables and a brake exchange program to accompany our Challenger MRO services. Customers being able to source parts from us in conjunction with having their maintenance needs met saves them time and money. We also plan to purchase further 64 aircraft for part out in 2018.”

For the last decade, C&L has perfected its one-stop-solution approach to maintenance, offering heavy checks, parts, interior work and paint for a variety of aircraft. Now they leverage that experience and capabilities to benefit Challenger operators.

The parts from the Challenger 604 will be available for sale or exchange to Challenger operators around the globe and will join the more than 1 million individual parts at C&L’s onsite warehouse, where a unique method for cataloguing parts makes the purchasing process transparent and seamless for customers. All parts come with industry standard warranties, comprehensive technical support, and are available for international and same-day shipping.

Like all of C&L’s inventory, these new parts will be thoroughly inspected and then go through a detailed cataloguing process. Each part and its documentation is photographed and barcoded into an electronic location system, which allows them to be sent as viewable links on all customer quotes.
