Charity raises thousands for charitable flights at NBAA

Corporate Angel Network (CAN) today announced the organization’s charity event raised nearly $300,000 for CAN’s mission to transport cancer patients to treatment centers.

The Fund an Angel Cocktail Reception was held at the Hilton Orlando on October 17th, in conjunction with NBAA’s 2018 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).

“We’re so grateful to the business aviation community for their enthusiastic support of CAN’s mission of providing transportation for patients to cancer care centers,” said CAN Executive Director Gina Russo.

“Every CAN flight depends on a team of corporate partners and donors, committed to our mission, who take action to help our patients in their time of need.”

The event offered guests an opportunity to network with leaders in the industry, while supporting CAN’s life-saving mission.

The live auction, which has always been a popular centerpiece of the event, was conducted by world-renowned auctioneer “Spanky” Assiter.

He engaged the crowd and orchestrated the bidding on exciting items, which included an exclusive Super Bowl package, trips to exotic destinations and wonderful aviation experiences.

New to the live auction, a P-51 Orientation Ride with Lee Lauderback, a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, with over 9,500 hours in the Mustang.

The legendary pilot’s offer included a preflight briefing, an opportunity to “do the majority of the flying yourself” and high performance aerobatics.
