Due to the novel coronavirus, Business Jet Cares was obligated to postpone what would have been the 8th Annual Cleared to Land on the Green Charity Golf Tournament to the fall of 2021. However, with lead matching gifts from Business Jet Center and Business Jet Access, Cares was still successful in raising $30,000 to split between the incredible philanthropies, Folds of Honor and Patriot Paws Service Dogs, each supporting families of military veterans by providing assistance through educational scholarships or the training and provision of service dogs.
“I am still in complete awe of the extra support Business Jet Cares has received this year. We weren’t sure what would be possible after postponing our Golf Tournament, but we were determined to continue our support of these incredible organizations. Many of our longstanding sponsors and golfers really came through with donations and we couldn’t be more grateful. This year has been extremely difficult on everyone, but we were so thankful to be able to continue our support of all the men and women who have, and continue to, put their lives on the line,” says Cat Wren, Chief Experience Officer at Business Jet Center and Tournament Coordinator. “We’re even more excited to start planning our Tournament scheduled for November 12, 2021! If you are interested in participating, send us an email at golf@businessjetcenter.com.”
“In addition to the Annual Golf Tournament, Business Jet Cares also partners with a local Dallas Elementary School each year for A Christmas to Remember to support local families that may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the holiday season. Now in its seventh year, Business Jet Cares was able to raise nearly $10,000 to support five families in Dallas with their greatest household needs such as cleaning supplies, furniture, cookware, clothing and appliances, along with Christmas wishes for the children including toys, games, bikes, scooters, electronics and more. Thanks to the contributions of over 30 companies, donors and volunteers, and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, the five families were excited beyond belief with a tremendous sense of gratitude.
“Business Jet Cares would especially like to thank Home Depot for donating a Christmas Tree for each family, Fiesta Furniture Outlet who provided four complete beds and mattresses, and Love Field’s Department of Aviation and TallyHo! who each sponsored an entire family. Other leading sponsors included The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, Phillips 66 Aviation, Business Jet Access, GoRentals, Sun Holdings, Inc., and Unique II Worldwide.”
