Bombardier to slash 5,000 jobs in restructuring

Adding to the announcement of sales of assets to Longview Aviation Capital, Bombardier has further announced that it is to cut 5,000 jobs as part of a restructure plan.

As part of a ‘restructuring’ plan, the aircraft manufacturer plans to optimise production and level management structures, which it hopes it will reduce indirect costs.

Bombardier has claimed that the restructuring plan will save $250m by 2021. The jobs are set to be lost over the next 12-18 months.
