AMAC Aerospace busy with JetWave installations and VIP refurbs

Already boasting expertise in antenna STC design and installation, AMAC Aerospace has completed a Ka-band fit on a Boeing 737-800 business jet, employing Honeywell’s JetWave equipment. The company reports high demand for JetWave, which provides full on-board connectivity via Inmarsat’s Global Xpress service.

The work builds on the recognition previously received when Honeywell awarded AMAC its Channel Partner Award, identifying it as a key partner on the flagship JetWave product. A series of projects is due into the company’s Basel headquarters over the coming months, all including the Ka-band solution.

AMAC is also expecting the imminent arrival of a head-of-state Airbus ACJ319 at its Basel facility. The aircraft will undergo a cabin refurbishment and partial reconfiguration, and a simultaneous C4 check.

The AMAC team is installing a novel VIP bedroom in the ACJ, while the cabin reconfiguration will replace the aircraft’s full complement of business class seats with new equipment.

Eric Hoegen, Director Completion Sales & Key Account Management at AMAC Aerospace Switzerland, commented: “We’re very proud to have been awarded a project of this magnitude from a long-term customer. Our selection shows the customer’s appreciation for our engineering and workmanship.”
