Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield, Illinois has broke ground on new capital improvement projects totaling an investment over $10 million.

General and business aviation facilities are due to be upgraded or expanded at the airport while becoming more modernised.

The airport is also upgrading parking facilities on the passenger terminal side.

Frank J. Vala, chairman of the airport authority operating the airport stated, “Today, we continue our efforts to rebuild and modernize major airport facilities to better serve our local aircraft owners and operators, commercial airline passengers and visitors to Springfield.

These improvements will provide a first-class front door to our community for those visitors utilizing the general aviation terminal. We are confident these improvements will provide a memorable first impression for those visiting our community.”
