Technical Support Engineer - C130

FIFTEEN_PLUS

Permanent

Cambridge, UK

Our client has been providing support to the RAF C-130 fleet since the 1960s and in 2006, following a reorganisation of its operating structures and the award of the Hercules Integrated Operational Support (HIOS) contract, has established a business unit totally focused on RAF C-130 support. Our client is looking to appoint a Structures/Airframe Systems Engineer, responsible for Post Design Services (PDS) within the HIOS Technical Support Group (TSG). Main duties will include:

• Answering technical queries from the customer on aspects of C-130 systems and installed equipment

• Assisting with the preparation of aircraft and system modification specifications, technical instructions and estimates to meet customer requirements

• Reviewing service bulletins, airworthiness directives and emerging legislation for potential application to customers aircraft

• Management of minor projects

• Liaising with Company design, manufacturing, production, commercial, purchasing and logistics staff to progress customer requirements

• Liaising with Company technical authors and technical vetting of manuals

• Any other PDS Engineering activity required by the TSG.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• A sound background of aircraft engineering, preferably with extensive C-130 experience

• Knowledge of UK MOD airworthiness and configuration management procedures, such as Def Stans 05-123,05-57 and 00-970, JAP100 Series and JSP 553

• Good verbal and written communication and IT Skills

• A general knowledge of design office, manufacturing and production procedures would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be required to hold or be eligible for UK SC clearance. Duties may also involve occasional UK and overseas travel at short notice.
